Cannopy Magazine is excited to announce a poetry contest for our upcoming Issue 14!
We invite poets from all backgrounds to submit their work on the theme below:
The Architecture of Persons ─ This theme is inspired by our recent interview with acclaimed poet and essayist Hanif Abdurraqib, who explores the emotional and psychological connections we have with spaces, and the confluences of art, architecture, and the people that help construct our sense of place. We encourage poems that delve into the following concepts:
Psychogeography: How our emotions and psyche construct our orientation towards a shared space.
Art Beyond Function: How art transforms a space into a “third place” of communality.
Architecture of Persons: Literal interpretations of the human body as an architectural structure, and figurative interpretations of how the people in our lives in give meaning to the physical spaces we share.
Submission Guidelines:
Deadline: October 10th
Length: Maximum of 20 lines
Prizes:
3 winners will receive a $100 cash prize and have their poem published in Issue 14 of Cannopy Magazine. Winners will also be featured on our website and social media and receive a spotlight interview in the magazine.

We look forward to reading your submissions and exploring the unique ways poetry can capture our experience of place.
